Endings and Beginnings

In summer 2024, I will conclude my chapter at the Boston Globe, where I’ve served as classical music critic for the last 18 years, and will take up the newly created John McCann professorship in music history and public humanities at Tufts University. My farewell column, looking back at my tenure and reflecting on the place of arts criticism today, can be found here.
